The illusive Great Pacific Garbage Patch... Known by many names: Trash Island, Sweet Sea Debris and Pacific Trash Vortex. The last one is the one to focus on. The DOUCHE-BAG trash is pulled in by a Mother Earth's NATURAL currents: these currents are called the North Pacific Gyre. All this trash comes from the shores of Asia, taking at most one year, and North America, taking at most 6-8 years, to the lovely Sea Debris Patch. This island has existed since 1985 and you probably are just now learning about this terrifying, sea life destroying, shit pile of man made idiocy. As any person with the tiniest common sense would know that this can kill and has started to effect sea life that is around its expanded mass. The GPGP reaches around twice the size of Texas but it is almost invisible in the naked eye. Why you ask? Great fucking question! The marine debris that GPGP consists of is low density plastics and industry chemical run off. The actual cause is actually so gosh dang easy to fix. This problem has an easy solution to make sure that the island doesn't grow any further. It is human destruction that is killing the world. It is up to us to reverse what our parents did. Trash. TRASH! Trash will not be the end of our world. It can't be... So, PICK THAT SH*T UP. map image from: https://marinedebris.noaa.gov/

Thank you for calling attention to an issue so many of us take for granted. We need to work together in order to prevent the destruction of earth and those who inhabit it. Pick that sh*t up! <3

I think it's so fascinating and at the same time disappointing at how so little people contribute to solving such a serious problem with such an easy solution as picking up that empty candy wrapper on the streets. It's honestly not that hard to drop your empty bag of chips in a trashcan ten steps away than on the floor. Go PTSU and keep doing your thang

It's crazy that we, as a global community, have even let this happened to our globe, our home. I have heard of this "island" before but i have never put much thought into this and really thought this was a joke or a fake story by the Onion or something. Loved reading this blog post and this has sparked a bigger passion to PICK THAT SHIT UP.
