Picking up trash can be boring, trust me, I get it. Nobody wants to walk all the way to a trash can, let alone a recycling bin, when they can just set their empty extra-large soda on the ground and drive away. But I want to stop this kind of mentality that is bred into the people in my town. The mentality that is built around "out of sight, out of mind." Maybe I'm being harsh but I can't help not making assumptions when I've seen the lazy high school student drop trash right in front of a trash can or the subtle smoker who left his cigarette in the gutter in front of BJs. But now I'm going to stop making an ass out of you and me and try to put a stop to this pesky litter or try to teach people that it is worth the walk to the bin. Pick that Shit Up is just a small club trying to help out the disaster we call Earth.

stop the unnecessary waste...
Duke University did a study where they found that "the average person in the world produces 4.3 pounds of waste per day... approximately 55% of 220 million tons of waste generated each year in the United States ends up in one of the over 3,500 landfills."
It's a cliche but I'll say it anyway: most people throw away their trash not really thinking where it would go and don't realize that they are producing such a large amount. This challenge is a way for people to realize the unnecessary waste they are producing when there are reusable options that are better for the environment. Like Water Bottles... So here is the challenge: You can't use any plastic water bottle or cups. Just reusable bottles... -January 13th |

the anti-littering campaign...
We Did It!!
Eco Friends and PTSU collected litter from local Walmart parking lots, Fast Food parking lots, and hiking trails and combined it into a sculpture that really represents what our mission is. That mission being a middle finger made out of trash. Thanks Walmart!
Thank you Walmart and Walmart shoppers for having so much trash we had to make to drop offs at our car. It's just the beginning of a PTSU revolution. Calling all Litter Bugs:
Saturday, September 10: Eco Friends and PTSU are going on a walk about around SCV to find and eliminate litter. We are literally picking that shit up... So if you can come, contact us... |

See what other people are doing to stop litter...
See how a badass woman on a motorcycle can take picking that sh*t up to a whole new level.
